FIRST TOOTH!!

Mike noticed just this morning that Levi's first tooth has broken through! He felt something sharp and lo and behold - the tip of a bottom tooth has appeared. That might explain why he woke up last night screaming bloody murder for a half an hour!

Covered in Carrots!

Levi is just loving mealtime! We tried carrots this week and he immediately gobbled them up. Now everytime we put him in his highchair he becomes giddy with anticipation. Eating is fun!!

Wow, is this boy a genius or what?

Uncle Dave comes to visit the little man

Uncle Dave came through for a quick visit on his way back to Kansas. Although a short visit, they had lots of quality time playing Pat-a-Cake. They were smitten with each other.

First Cereal!

Levi has entered the wonderful world of solid food. We're starting with yummy rice cereal (yuch!) that has mostly ended up dripping down his chin. He seems to like sitting in the high chair and chewing on the spoon, though. We're hoping he'll be enjoying steak and lobster in no time at all.

Sitting up!

...with a little help.

Childbirth class reunion

We had a get together with a few couples from our childbirth class. Of course Levi was the cutest, but we're a little biased.

Getting to know Gunnar

Gunnar has been extremely frightened of Levi since we brought him home, but just recently he's started to approach him with caution. He even let Levi pet him - it was a momentous event.

4 Month Checkup

Levi had his 4 month checkup with Dr. Perry today, along with another "baby mugging" - 4 more immunization shots. Here are his recent stats:
Weight: 14 lbs. 12 oz. - 40%
Height: 25 in. - 45%
Head: 16 7/8 in. - 60%
Doc Perry says his percentages are right on track and he's growing great! We talked about his sleeping patterns and he said Levi is actually way ahead of most babies given that he is usually sleeping through the night - (muchos gracias to sis-in-law Kristin for all her sleeping advice and to Babywise). All of Levi's motor and social skills look terrific as well - reaching for and grabbing objects (and putting them right into his mouth!); rolling over; lifting self up on arms when on tummy; smiling; laughing; turning towards sounds, etc., etc. It's just SO reassuring to know he's about as perfect as can be!
He was a real trooper again with the shots and now he's peacefully sleeping off all the trauma.

Levi and Bob the Big Black Bear

Is that comfy?

This is now how Levi sleeps 95% of the time. We put him down on his back or side, but minutes later he squirms into this position and sleeps, well...like a baby.

Fun with the Exersaucer!

Levi loves this exersaucer that Roxi loaned to him! He spins around freely and is developing amazing leg strength - he even held on to the outside of it by himself for a few seconds!

The last minute of 5 maniacal minutes.

I was a little afraid Levi had lost his marbles. Jen is singing the theme song to the old "Freaks and Geeks" TV show --- "Bad Reputation" by Joann Jett.
