Wonderboy

It's just crazy how much Levi has grown in the past few months. Everyday his skills continue to amaze us. Although he isn't talking yet, he has great comprehension of various things. Around the house he can point to mommy, daddy, kitties, the ceiling fan, the fish tank, a stuffed monkey hanging on the staircase, the drum kit upstairs, etc. He loves to look at books and freely will pick one up, carry it over to one of us, hand it to us, and plop down on our lap. He turns the pages with ease and can point to many things, especially various animals. He knows cows, fish, pigs, horses, cats, dogs, bears, etc. It's almost as if each day he discovers something new and to see the wonderment in his eyes brings us such joy. His favorite toys continue to be things that aren't really "toys" - such as pot lids, tupperware, pens in a cup, a cardboard box. It's cool to watch him try to figure things out. Today, for example, he dropped pens through a hole in a cardboard box and then picked the box up to discover them underneath! This was repeated numerous times and kept eliciting smiles and laughs from us all. The cutest thing he now does is giving hugs, whether for mommy and daddy or for his various stuffed animals. When I say "Give mommy a hug" and he toddles over with arms outstretched and squeezes me so hard like he's never going to let go, well, let's just say I never imagined I could experience such a pure and genuine happiness.
