Levi's latest

Levi is almost 2 months old and Mike and I have been blissfully enjoying every moment. He's been kind enough to settle into a somewhat predictable feeding/sleeping schedule and has even calmed down a bit in the evenings. There's been a lot less crying and we haven't had to take nearly as many "drives" to settle him. Having said that, I'm sure he'll throw something new at us tomorrow...
Some recent developments:
1. He's tracking objects, but hasn't quite started using his hands by grasping and reaching for the objects; although we put things in his hands and then clap and cheer as if he did it all by himself!
2. I have been grateful to only have to wake up once in the middle of the night for a feeding. I'm patiently awaiting the day I can sleep for more than 5 hours straight.
3. Levi has been smiling more and more everyday! He's even had brief episodes of laughter. It's so rewarding to finally have him respond to us - and with such a gift as a great smile!

Grandpa and Nana came to visit the little guy. Grandpa had a lot of fun seeing Levi in his Duke outfits!

6 weeks old today!

Levi's 6 week birthday is today. It's amazing how much he has grown already. He was weighed yesterday and topped out at a whopping 10 pounds! He's gaining about a pound a week and the average is a pound every 2 weeks! He's already outgrown some of his newborn clothes and we realized today the straps on the carseat need to be moved to accommodate his humongous growth! No more worries about whether or not he's thriving!

Grandma and Papa Chuck visit

Grandma and Papa Chuck came to visit Levi. He was a super star during their visit and of course, they were smitten with the little guy!

Baby acne

Poor Levi has come down with a moderate case of baby acne, thus new photos will not be forthcoming until this unfortunate condition passes! Supposedly it's very common, as their pores are not quite developed yet, and prone to bacteria. His nickname right now is "pizza face". We won't call him that if he has the condition again at age 14!
